One of my favorite classes to teach is making cards quick and easy with the Stampin Up Simply Scrappin Kit.  This picuture utilizes our "I Wish " kit.   I will be submitting different groups of photos from each section of the class.  The cards are broken into groups for ease of cutting.

If you are sitting in West Chester Ohio right now, you are experiencing a beautiful day.  It is about 70 degrees which is kinda wierd since it is November 2nd.  Now the scary part is that we need to start thinking about getting those Holiday Cards finished so we can get them out in the mail.

I am having a class in a few weeks from now that utilies the "I Wish"  scrapbook kit and the "Word Flurries"  Rub-Ons.  In the class you can decide on whether you want to make 24 cards or 48 cards.  Now I know everyone is busy and does not always have time to come to a class.  So the beauty of this class is that you can take it to go.  That’s right, pick it up or pay to have it shipped to you and you are finished.  There will be detailed photos of each card.

Ok, so maybe the name of the card sounds corney but I used our Summer Picnic DSP (111355) and it just came into my brain.  I think I used the Summer Picnic because if you remember in my previous post about how nice it was to have some fall weather.  Well that lasted until the next day when it went down to 40 degrees.

This card is now so easy to make with the new Big Shot (113439) that we carry from Sizzix.  I used one of our Stampin Up exclusive dies called Pennant Bigx XL Die (113483). You use the die to cut one pennant in DSP paper and the other in our cardstock.  The die contains some larger sized scallops which i used to place under the stamped image.  The stamped image is part of the 20% birthday sets you can receive with a $20 purchase.  This set is called Time to Party (111702).

I used the extra paper that I cut off from the pennant to decorate the inside card.  You can use the inside to attach a photo or write a message.  This card is the standard size but the pennant makes it so much easier.

As I sit at my desk after a very long weekend on the soccer fields, I could not help but think how it felt like fall was definately coming. West Chester, Ohio is one of those areas that never gets too extreme except for a week here and there but it was still pleasant to hang outside all weekend even if I had to be up at the crack of dawn.  I must say it is a eerie feeling to drive in the dark to a soccer game with the hope the sun comes up in time.  

 I had purchased the DSP, Washington Apple (112461) for another project I was doing and found that I loved the colors for fall.  Plus, who hates to waste strips of paper.  There is always some scrapbook page that can be put together.  The cardstock colors are simple.  There is pumpkin pie (107100) for the base, in color riding hood red (111346) for the accent strip and So Saffron (105118) for the photo mats. 

If you have not purchased our Scallop Edged punch (112091), you don’t know what you are missing.  I am such a junkie for tools and I am even more excited when it is inexpensive and easy to use.

The letters which make up the title, "Fall" are from our wonderful chipboard. These letters are from the On Board Loads of Letters (112084).  I used a sponge dauber (102892) to color the kraft chipboard with close to cocoa craft ink (100549).  If you are unfamiliar with how to do this process, it is so easy.  You basically place your finger into the hole on the top of the sponge dauber, tap the sponge end into the craft ink which is a pigment ink, and tap onto the chipboard.  I know you are thinking why do I need to tell you how to place your finger in the hole, but I have made the mistake of not explaining that process clearly and people where holding the dauber by its side.  Placing your finger inside makes it more comfortable.

We cannot have crampy fingers when we craft.  LOL

Now for those of you who live in the West Chester / Cincinnati Ohio area, this Boo Wiper Card was made during my last unique card club.  This is a montly club that allow its members to learn something new in the arena of card making.  I have ladies who have been with me for the entire five years I have been a demonstrator and I have to force them into wanting to learn something harder.  My goal is to grow your creative minds.

This card just makes you happy.  First of all, how can you not be surprised when you pull the side and the word Boo pops up.  Here are some simple instructions that I used to make this card.

1. You will score your base card color on the 7 ½ side at 2 inches and 3 ¼.
2. After you score,  cut on the 7 ½ side into 2 pieces measuring 3 ¾ x 11
3. For the top piece, the score lines should be on your left. You will fold the left so that on the closest to the end of the left it will make a valley and then the score line further away will make a mountain crease. You will put tape on the back of the left to the valley crease.
4. For the bottom piece, the score lines should be on your right. You will fold the right so that the closest to the end of the right will make a mountain and then the score line further away from the right edge will make a valley crease. This is the opposite on the top piece. You will put tape on the top of the right edge to the mountain crease.
5. For the wiper piece inside, you will make a score diagonal corner that is not bigger than the width of the two score lines on the top and bottom pieces. So for this card, you will mark over 1 1/8 over and down and then crease on a diagonal. Fold the diagonal down towards the front side of the stamped image. On the folded piece is where you put the tape.
6. The wiper piece gets taped to the inside of the top piece between the two score lines.
7. Your will tape the pieces together end to end. Pull the two ends of the card in opposite directions to reveal the “wiper” pop-up surprise.
8. This style card will have the ends lining up off set.

 As always, my creations use only Stampin Up products.  The cardstock in Pumpkin Pie, Basic Black, Lovely Lilac, Green Galore and Whisper White.  The stamp set is the Batty for you.  The ink colors are Basic Black, Lovely Lilac, and Green Galore.

I live in an area just outside of Cincinnati Ohio in a town named West Chester.  I am fortunate that our subdivision has lots of kids so trick or treating is a big deal.  Our cul-de-sac sits at tables at the end of the street and passes out candy in a big group.  It is always a lot of fun and the parents fight over who gets to stay and who has to take the kids around the neighborhood. 

This page is dedicated to my downline member Edith.  Her nickname for our group is BAT Girl.  The page is easy to make because it uses some many of the great products we have at Stampin Up.  I started with the pumpkin pie cardstock as the base for the pages.  The Ghostly Greetings DSP (112463)  makes it so easy to add a batty feel to this layout. 

For the letters in the title, I used the Big Deal Alphabet (107345) which are the right font for this type of page.  But, I cannot leave out the little creature of the bat.  This stamp comes from the Stampin Up set called Batty For You (109363).  How appropriate don’t you think.  This set features many little creatures for any theme you desire.

I am a Rub On junkie when it comes to making projects.  I used the Chills and Thrills (111806)  which have such a nice border of bats in the package.  Did you know the rub ons come in two colors in each package?  This set comes in black and white.  Image the spooky possibilities.

Halloween to me is one of the funnest times of the year.  It allows both children and adults to act a little crazy.  I have been teaching scrapbook for many years and I have found that people spend lots of time getting started and not actually working on their project.  My approach is different, I enjoy making the pages in advance.  This way I am not hindered by the different elements of a page.  I can think clearly and just put together the pages with only using creativity as the design.  I just got lucky in that my son picked a Halloween costum that is a skelton.  How perfect is that.

The page utlizies many of the Stampin UP products available in the Fall & Winter Idea Book.  I have used the Ghostly Greetings DSP along with the Chills and Thrills Rub Ons. 

If you have never used Rub Ons or have tried them early on, let me share some of the secrets my customer said to me.  "I hate rub one, they are too hard to get off"  I hear this comment over and over and then they try the rub ons from Stampin Up. They are so easy to use because the quality is up to par.  I always like to save money wherever I can but I can tell you that if you buy poor quality rub ons, your result will be poor.

The key to handling a rub on successfully is to be sure you cut around the image you wish to rub.  By cutting it out, this will stop the heat from your hand from affecting other rub ons for in the future.  Here is a close up of the rub on one of the pages.
